Princess Yachts

As part of a university-organised trip, we had the opportunity to visit Princess Yachts, hosted by alumni now working within the company.

The experience offered a unique behind-the-scenes look at their design studio and the full development process of their luxury yachts.

We gained insight into how initial concepts are visualised and developed, particularly focusing on the interior design elements such as layout planning, material selection, and space optimisation within the constraints of marine design. The visit highlighted how designers work collaboratively to create elegant, functional interiors that reflect the brand’s high standards of craftsmanship and luxury.

We also learned how these concepts are refined and finalised before being sent to the Plymouth facility for production, giving us a comprehensive view of the journey from initial design idea to the finished yacht. This experience deepened my understanding of interior design within a highly specialised, high-end industry context.
